Custom Skins are the only real skins from mytego.com

September 15, 2010

Yes, we have all heard it before – what exactly is a custom skin, and what is a real custom skin? Is there really a difference and, more importantly, why should we care about it?

Custom can mean so many things to different people. The simple explanation of a custom skin is simply changing the colors with a simple design – when you pick up a new pink leopard print off the shelf – is that real customization? Is it a custom skin? perhaps, but only for those who think simplistically. Mytego believes that customization can go much much deeper than that. Customization is more about what you create and design for yourself. Where else can you do this than with a custom skin designer studio available from mytego.com. This custom designer studio allows for every customer to get exactly what they want… because they design it completely themselves, with their own artwork, photographs, designs, graphics… you name it!

The cool thing is that now you can get some real customization with the special design it yourself studio. It will work for all of the devices on the market – including the apple ipad, the apple iphone, macbooks, laptops, cell phones etc.

Can you imagine what it is like to have real customization? Now you can have a chance at it only at mytego.com

Netbook Sales on the Rise, Customize Yours With a Custom Skin from MyTego.com

April 29, 2009

MyTego.com is adding Netbook templates to their already extensive device selection online.  Netbook sales are on the rise stealing a 7 percent share of the global laptop market in their first year and this number is expected to rise to 12 percent for their second year.  While these small laptops were originally designed as a cheap alternative to a laptop for lower income families, they have become immensely popular among businesspeople as they are lighter and much easier to carry around than a standard laptop.

Netbooks are used mostly for online activities, basic word processing and other simple activities.  They are not used for storing large amounts of data but rather for accessing documents and pictures that have been saved online.  Netbooks generally have screen sizes between 6 and 10 inches and weigh between 2 and 3 pounds.  Most of these mini laptops sell for a price between $300 and $600, and sales in Europe have been 8 times the sales in the United States.  One of the more popular Netbooks is the Acer Aspire One weighing in at just over 2 pounds.

MyTego is now adding many different Netbook templates so customers can design custom vinyl Tego skins for their mini laptops.  Tego skins are low-profile, protective skins that are designed specifically by each individual customer.  Tego skins go on easy and come off clean so that they will not ruin the customer’s device and also allow customers to keep up to date with fast-changing trends.  The device will remain fully functional with specific cutouts for screens, buttons and cut lines leaving full access to the battery.  Prices start at $13, including shipping, for cell phone skins and $28 for laptop skins.  MyTego also has skins for game consoles, such as the Sony PlayStation 3, or other gadgets like the Amazon Kindle and most other portable electronic gadgets and devices.  Orders are usually printed within 5 days of placing the order, sometimes within 48 hours, and shipping times range from a couple days to a couple weeks, depending on what the customer chooses.  Rush shipping is available on all orders for an extra cost.

MyTego has a number of netbooks on their website already and will continue to add more as more models are released.  If a customer does not see their netbook on the site, they can email MyTego from their website to request the device.  The following is a list of netbooks that are currently on the site:

·         Dell Inspiron Mini 9

·         LG x110

·         MSI Wind

·         Acer Aspire One

·         HP Mini 1000

·         Asus Eee PC 700-701-702

·         Asus Eee PC 900-901

·         Asus Eee PC 1000

·         Sony Vaio P-Series Lifestyle PC

·         Samsung NC10

·         Asus N10

MyTego.com is based out of Winnipeg, Canada and has licensed operations in Europe.  Tego skins are designed using a unique, patented online design studio that operates in seven different languages.  Products are distributed worldwide making MyTego a world leader in innovative, on-demand, mass customization.  They have developed a complete patented production system that allows for individual manufacturing with infinite customer choices, with similar economies of traditional mass production, where the customer receives very little, or no opportunity, for customization and personalization.  MyTego.com provides customers with the tools to create a one-of-a-kind Tego skin that shows off the customer’s inherent desire to style their own world.

MyTego.com Featured Artist – Sandrine Replat

April 29, 2009

Wutz on ur skin?  MyTego.com is continually updating their online catalog of images with graphics from local artists and artists from around the globe.  Sandrine Replat is one of the artists showcased in their “Featured Artists” section of their online image catalog.

Sandrine Replat is a self-taught artist living in France, Grenoble in the Alps.  She likes to use and combine both traditional and digital art to create unique images inspired by nature, moonlight and Halloween.  Her images represent childhood nightmares, haunting places, mystery and fairies.  She has created images for the short story, “Une Obscurité Infinie” written by Emilie Criscuolo.  She also worked with Jenica Harper, a screenwriter for the Canadian Industry TV, on an online comic book called “Abigail’s War,” which was later published by Zeros2heros.  To see more of her work, you can check out her website at http://senyphine.deviantart.com/.   Sandrine Replat’s work can now be applied to any and all portable electronic devices, such as the Apple iPod Nano or iPhone, in the form of a Tego skin from www.MyTEGO.com.  She is featured on the website in the “Featured Artists” section of the online graphics catalog.

Tego Skins are low-profile, protective, printed adhesive vinyl “stick-ons” that are applied to the surfaces of portable gadgets to make them stand out among the many identical devices surrounding them. Customers can create Tego skins for any and all portable electronic devices with creative artwork from our featured artists, including Sandrine Replat.  MyTego’s innovative online interface allows for an infinite number of design possibilities when customers are creating unique skins for their Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Zune or other personal gadget.  Design your own with an image from Sandrine Replat at www.MyTego.com.

You can find these images by first selecting your device from our list of templates, click on “Select an image” on the left side of the screen and then, from the dropdown menu, choose “Featured Artists.”  Replat earns royalties each time her image is chosen by a customer to design a unique Tego skin for their iPhone, iPod, BlackBerry or any other personal device that they want to customize.  MyTego is proud to support local and global artists in this way.
